“One of the joys of moving areas is the opportunity to explore new restaurants. Since working in Geelong, Asian Essence has quickly become my favourite lunch haunt. The food is great and the family that runs it are lovely people. I remember the first dish I tried there, the Kampung Fried Rice, I’ve always had a soft spot for fried rice and boy is this a good one. I backed myself on the spicy option which TBH could’ve gone either way, but it was perfect. Combined with the anchovies, egg, and a few extra chicken pieces for good measure, washed down with a cold Milo, I can’t remember returning from a lunch break happier.”
