SATE AYAM (CHICKEN SKEWERS)

“A simple dish that has been imbued in so many memories. From being a child and cooking these in batches for family - either being placed on flipping duty (rotating the skewer) or fan duty (fanning the fire) at the charcoal grill to introducing my high school to my style of sate(satay) and homemade peanut sauce, this Indonesian skewer has been like a Olympic baton being passed down to each aspect of my life. Even when I visit family in Indonesia, we would travel all the way to my mum’s home town just so she can reminisce her younger days and have the local dish, because there are always slight variations being made in different cities.

I get picky when it comes to sate skewers, so My Delight has been one of my favourites when it comes to authentic Indonesian dishes (that literally hits home for me).”
